Bring your skills and interest in urban planning, policy development, and stakeholder and public consultation to the Ministry of Infrastructure's Ontario Growth Secretariat.

The Secretariat leads the Ontario government's Places to Grow initiative which ensures that decisions about land use and infrastructure are made in ways that sustain a robust economy, build strong communities and promote a healthy environment.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Senior Associate with the Partnerships and Consultation Team, you will:
• design and deliver public and stakeholder engagement initiatives including public consultations
• prepare policy related documents, including research papers, briefing notes, presentations and submissions
• initiate and lead major projects

How do I qualify?

Stakeholder relationship building/Communication skills:
• demonstrated ability to develop consultation processes and establish and manage relationships with a network of stakeholders and partners, including municipal, private sector and aboriginal groups for consultation, advice and collaborative purposes
• demonstrated ability to foster strong, collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders to facilitate discussions, manage issues and build consensus
• proven ability to respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare reports, position papers, speeches, briefing materials and correspondence and lead briefings and presentations
• demonstrated ability to disseminate information, education, methodologies, and tools throughout the province, and prepare and present multi-media messaging for audiences throughout the province

Research and Analytical skills:
• demonstrated ability to plan and carry out research, including environmental scans, trends analyses, issues identification and evaluate impacts of decisions
• experience developing and presenting sound options and recommendations to support senior management decision-making

Project management skills:
• proven ability to lead, plan, develop and coordinate projects
• experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams
• time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and coordinate competing priorities

Technical knowledge:
• demonstrated policy development expertise
• knowledge of land-use planning, urban design economic theory, regional development, growth economics, human geography, social and environmental issues
