The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Emergency Health Services Branch requires a self-directed, organized individual to conduct inspections of ambulance services, ambulance, communications centres and Base Hospital operations throughout the province.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate operational and administrative practices of ambulance, communication services and Base Hospital against legislation, Performance Agreements and established standards.
• Identify and document areas of non-compliance.
• Prepare reports with supportable information and conclusions.
• Provide information and advice on standards, policies and corrective measures.
• Act as witness at judicial proceedings, as requested.

How do I qualify?

• You know land ambulance, communications centre, air ambulance and base hospital operations.
• You understand and can apply Emergency Health System policies, standards, legislation, Performance Agreements, regulations and practices (i.e. patient care, health and safety, vehicles, equipment, cleanliness, sanitation, administration).

• You understand and can apply inspections practices.
• You can gather and analyze information, document non-compliance issues and provide recommendations.
• You are organized and use initiative to coordinate your workload.

• You use good consultation skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• You use your interpersonal and diplomatic skills to deal with contentious and sensitive issues.

• You communicate effectively and can prepare and present information in clear and concise manner.
• You are proficient in various computer software applications and databases (i.e. word-processing, database and spreadsheets).

• You must possess a valid Class “G” driver's license and be willing to travel.
