Consider this unique opportunity to apply your experience in sign manufacturing. In this exciting role with The Ministry of Transportation's Provincial Sign Shop you will manufacture various types of highway signs and symbols.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will produce a variety of signs by:
• Manufacturing silk screen process frames and cutting profilm for silk screen process printing.
• Setting up silk screen using the knowledge of different inks used on various reflective and non-reflective materials.
• Mixing and applying different paints and primers to metal, plywood and aluminium blanks.
• Operates computerized sign maker machine.
• Applying sheeting materials to signs by various methods.
• Assembling and applying message to extruded signs.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• You have knowledge of Adobe CS6 products or other similar design software.
• You have skills in Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and the ability to complete reports (such as Employee and Equipment time sheets, Work Reports, Accident Reports, Diary, etc.).
• You have knowledge of the Traffic Control Manual for Roadway Work Operations and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
• You have knowledge of knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Essential Skills:

• You have demonstrated coordination and dexterity to perform a variety of sign manufacturing tasks.
• You are able to use a variety of hand power tools, table saws, and drill presses.
• You have the ability to follow and interpret sign layouts, written and verbal instructions.
• You have oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• You have the ability to work in a team environment, with minimum supervision and complete daily worksheets, often with tight deadlines.
