We are seeking a committed team player to lead and conduct health economic analyses and identify health economic research evidence in support of health strategy development, addressing a range of strategic health issues affecting Ontarians.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• lead, conduct, and coordinate health economic modeling, health economics analyses and research in support of strategic health system innovations
• integrate multiple sources of research information
• prepare policy papers and advice to Ministry staff and senior management
• lead and participate in working groups

What you bring to the team

Computer Skills

• you can use computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, to prepare documents
• you can conduct research using the Internet and database applications

Knowledge of Health Economics and the Ontario Health Care System

• you have expertise in theories, concepts, methods and measures in health economics to act as a leading subject advisor
• you have expertise in the development of complex health economic models to support decision-making
• you have expertise in acquiring, assessing, adapting and applying health economic research evidence for strategy development, policy development and planning
• you have demonstrated knowledge of the health care system to understand current health issues
• you can recognize interdependencies in health care organizations and their impact on the system using systems thinking skills

Research and Analytical Skills

• you can research, utilize and interpret data and information from a variety of sources
• you can understand and present policy issues in different ways using analytical skills
• you can evaluate and apply health economics research for strategy and policy development
• you have proven project leadership skills to plan and implement project plans
• you can use strategic thinking skills to define the project scope and lead team members to successful project completion

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

• you have excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences
• you can influence the actions of others and lead colleagues on health economics projects
