Are you looking for an opportunity to utilize your adult education and coordination skills in the paramedic field? This position offers talented individuals the ability to support provincial programs related to patient care standards and certification of paramedic personnel. In this role, you will focus on planning, developing and maintaining paramedic practice standards and supporting the certification and testing processes for paramedic exams in the province of Ontario.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a paramedic standards and certification coordinator, you will:

• Conduct research and needs analysis.
• Consult and provide direction to stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standards and training bulletins.
• Assist with the planning and budgeting for training initiatives.
• Assess paramedic equivalency qualifications.

How do I qualify?

PARAMEDIC AND HEALTH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• You are familiar with paramedic standards and practices.
• You are aware of the requirements to become a paramedic in Ontario.
• You have knowledge of Ontario's emergency health system programs and related legislative framework.

EDUCATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE KNOWLEDGE:

• You know adult and related education methodologies (i.e. program development).
• You can coordinate the development of effective training programs (i.e. course curricula, materials and resources.
• You can coordinate the delivery of effective training and/or testing program.
• You know administrative management practices to develop effective processes.

LEADERSHIP, ORGANIZATION AND PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS:

• You have experience leading projects and effective work groups.
• You can analyze program and training requirements and prepare draft responses, proposals and reports.
• You are well organized and can resolve complex issues.

STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS:

• You can demonstrate your ability to develop and maintain effective relations with stakeholders and collaborate on solutions to stakeholder matters.
• You are able to represent the ministry in the consultation of complex issues.
• You are able to work with multiple stakeholders to build consensus on contentious issues using good judgment and political acuity.

COMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER SKILLS:

• You have experience providing direction, advice and consultation to clients.
• You can prepare training materials and present information to clients.
• You have advanced computer software skills (i.e. word-processing, presentation, database and spreadsheet software).
