What can I expect to do in this role?

In this challenging role, you will:
• provide specialist engineering advice to staff across the province;
• carry out studies and evaluate ministry programs for appropriateness and effectiveness;
• do investigations and evaluations of new material, suppliers, equipment and processes.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• You must be licensed by Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)

Advanced Technical Knowledge

• You have demonstrated knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of civil engineering, specifically soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
• You have good knowledge of geotechnical analysis, design and construction methods.
• You have of knowledge of structural design principles and methods.

Proven Analytical and Project Management Abilities

• You have analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills to assess foundation engineering reports, contract documents and complex engineering problems and evaluate solutions.
• You have planning, coordination and project management skills.

Demonstrated Communication and Leadership Skills

• You have excellent communication skills to provide sound engineering advice, make technical presentations, develop and write formal specifications and reports.
• You have interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships.
• You have leadership skills to provide technical supervision and technical leadership.
