Bring your technical expertise to the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) to provide expertise in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of cost effective information technology solutions and services across the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO).

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

- Provide subject matter expertise and deliver on the technical design, development and implementation of complex technical solutions and applications;

- Provide technical systems development expertise to meet clients' IT requirements;

- Facilitate clients' review of IT needs and determination;

- Maintain thorough and current knowledge of FSCO systems technology by attending seminars, vendor courses, reading literature and researching new developments;

- Provide leadership in completing research activities to establish technology direction/strategy/standards and best practices while working with colleagues across the cluster and corporate/enterprise.

How do I qualify?

IT Expertise:

- You have knowledge of current technology platforms & system technologies including MS Dynamics x/CRM, SharePoint, ERP packaged applications, Microsoft-based programming languages especially in .NET/ASP and other related technologies;

- You have advanced knowledge of database management systems utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and related BI and reporting technologies; database design, optimization and performance troubleshooting;

- You have knowledge of administrative and I&IT policies, standards and directives to ensure compliance of solution design recommendations and purchase acquisition of technology and services.

Project Management Skills:

- You have knowledge of project planning methodology, business processes, and requirements to recommend systems development solutions which promote corporate IT strategies and goals while also meeting business needs/priorities of the client;

- You have team leadership skills to coordinate development of technical project plans, control project processes and provide technical leadership to project teams and other stakeholders.

Analytical, Research & Evaluation Skills:

- You can assess clients information/systems needs and lead the development of information technology solutions which are cost effective and improve client program/service delivery;

- You can maintain currency in the field and upgrade knowledge of various systems technology.

Communication & Consultation Skills:

- You have oral communication skills to convey client requirements; lead discussion of systems development options and technical processes; obtain buy-in for proposed solution to clients, management and peers;

- You have written communication skills to prepare technical documents supporting the SDLC, project reports, briefing notes, business cases, and RFPs;

- You have consultation, negotiation and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and clients and other stakeholders.
