Are you experienced in program delivery and have the developed ability to provide technical leadership and guidance?

If so, consider this challenging opportunity as an Aggregate Technical Specialist.

What can I expect to do in this role?

• administer aggregate license/permit processes
• participate in work program activities including preparing recommendations, organizing field projects and monitor progress and results of projects
• provide technical expertise and group leadership through consultation, negotiations, and conflict resolution
• prepare and implement compliance plans, conduct field inspections and provide testimonial evidence in court
• support long range planning teams by providing technical expertise
• communicate program information to the public, clients, partners, resource industries and Aboriginal peoples
• participate in the delivery of other district resource management programs (e.g. Lands and Waters, Fish and Wildlife, Forestry)

How do I qualify?

Mandatory Requirement:

• Candidates must have a valid class 'G' driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario, and an ability to travel within the service area.

Communication, Planning, Coordination and Interpersonal skills:

• You have proven interpersonal and communication skills to prepare written products and participating in briefings, public meetings, conducting training and presenting evidence at legal proceedings.
• You have expertise pertaining to planning, leading/coordinating and participating in Aggregates program and project activities.
• You have demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills to conduct risk assessment, develop options and provide recommendations.

Aggregate Expertise and Technical Knowledge:

• You have knowledge of Aggregates legislation, activities, administrative policies/procedures, licencing and permitting processes.
• You have proven knowledge of compliance inspection/investigation procedures and experience investigating infractions, determining corrective action and providing technical information and evidence.
• You have knowledge of personal computers/software including word-processing, data base, electronic mail, internet and spreadsheet applications to prepare correspondence and reports as well as input and retrieve data.
