What can I expect to do in this role?
In the role of I&IT Lead Technology Specialist, you will:
• lead teams in the planning, design, development, and deployment of leading edge projects and support initiatives
• provide technical leadership in the research and development of emerging trends and technologies
• facilitate integrated solution development and work with business partners to develop functional/implement requirements and subsequent detailed technical design documentation
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge:
You have:
• expert hands on knowledge of middleware management technologies and database design methods (i.e. IBM WebSphere application server (WAS), portal server, Process Server instances, Datapower, Urban Code, LDAP, Lotus Forms, Adobe Forms, ITCAM, Cognos, Business Objects, ETL Tools, Oracle databases)
• knowledge of technical performance software to ensure system reliability and integrity and to solve various unique problems
• expertise in design and development to lead project teams in the implementation of systems solutions, and develop training plans for technical systems (i.e. IBM WebSphere suite of products and Oracle Databases)
• knowledge of ITSM standards based and enterprise architecture on the ITIL framework
Analytical & Problem Solving Skills:
You have knowledge of or experience:
• risk management principles and best practices to anticipate and understand the potential for risk in system failure/critical incidents
• developing risk management strategies and protocols to mitigate and minimize risk
• the ability to interpret and apply knowledge of OPS/Cluster/Ministry I&IT strategies, plans, operational and service delivery policies, directives, best practices and standards
• developing performance measures for project evaluation, assessing and/or developing contingency plans for problem resolution situations
• assessing ongoing system platform performance, identifying necessary changes/improvements, and overseeing implementation to sustain platform performance
• assessing and resolving critical incidents and develop protocols for dealing with/avoiding future incidents
Technical Leadership and Project Management Skills:
• you have demonstrated experience providing technical leadership and guidance to systems development teams at all levels of the process (planning, design, development, deployment, quality assurance, supporting integrated applications)
• you have project management and change management skills to concurrently manage multiple large-scale projects
• you have experience planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, measuring, monitoring and controlling large-scale systems development projects
• your knowledge of contract management and procurement enable you to estimate resources and oversee resources for the acquisition of business solutions and project resources
Communication, Relationship Building and Consultation Skills:
You have:
• advisory skills to provide authoritative and persuasive technical advice
• interpersonal and stakeholder relations skills to maintain effective internal and multi-jurisdictional client relationships
• oral and written communication skills to prepare and present complex technical information and recommendations to non- technical audiences (e.g. senior management, clients, stakeholders)
• consultation and collaboration skills to lead client discussions to identify I&IT solutions and provide technical expertise for strategy and systems platform development
