The Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth is seeking a highly motivated and strategic leader to develop and lead a team of professionals in the area of finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources and administration. The Director, Finance and Administration will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and operations.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Provincial Advocate, the Director, Finance and Administration will provide financial expertise and leadership in the planning, management and control of the Provincial Advocate's financial resources and budgetary processes, financial forecasting, and coordination of audit activities as well as the development of corporate accounting policies and procedures. The incumbent will analyze expenditures and budgets and monitor the overall financial activities of the Office. In addition, the Director, Finance and Administration will evaluate and set the direction for future growth within the areas of administration and finance, as well as support and drive key human resource initiatives.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Extensive experience in Accounting, Commerce or Business Management/ Administration, you possess a professional accounting designation CPA and an extensive experience and knowledge of related and progressive experience in Finance and Human Resources. A CHRL designation would be an asset. You have proven leadership, organizational development and teambuilding skills. You are skilled at fostering positive working relationships and have a flair for influencing, negotiating and empowering others. Your superior communication and presentation skills and your solid analytical skills will contribute to your success in this position.
