The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO), an arms-length agency of the Ministry of Education, requires a project leader with knowledge of large-scale assessment, research, evaluation and data management theory, principles and methods to lead the design, development and implementation of systems and procedures to ensure the integrity of the data collected and reported.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• plan and lead projects from end-to-end, including research, evaluation and program projects
• work with internal staff and contractors to process, analyze, verify and report large-scale assessment data
• provide advice to EQAO senior management on strategic and innovative solutions to ensure the integrity of data collection and management, and improve the quality and timeliness of reported results
How do I qualify?
Project management skills:
You have:
• demonstrated project management, organization and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment
• proven understanding of systems and procedures involved in coordinating large-scale census and sampling assessments, and analysing and reporting results
Technical expertise:
You have:
• demonstrated knowledge of principles and methodologies of quantitative analysis, including data collection and sampling techniques, and instrument design and development
• problem solving to lead research and analysis through the scientific method
• demonstrated knowledge of large-scale assessment theory, principles, methods and processes
• proven ability to identify and recommend improvements to assessment instruments and processes, analyze assessment project data results, develop reports, interpret data results and advise senior management on the impact of assessment project results
• knowledge of data analysis software (SAS, SPSS, .xls) and data visualization products, including Tableau and GIS software
• knowledge of school and board structure and processes
Communication and client service skills:
You have:
• communication skills to present data and information in traditional and non-traditional ways, including data visualization
• oral and written communication skills to provide information and advisory services, and to prepare research and data analysis reports
• understanding of client service principles and practices including strong vendor and contractor management skills
• knowledge of outreach practices to manage data collection mechanisms and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
