Are you an effective leader with the ability to co-ordinate business projects? Do you have strong I&IT business analysis skills to asses, develop and advise on business systems, methods and practices? Do you have the ability to map, analyze, evaluate and report on business needs?

If so, consider this exciting opportunity to support the Modernization Solutions Portfolio within the Road User Safety IT Modernization Branch in the Ministry of Transportation.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this job you will:

• Lead and conduct business analysis to assess clients' business problems or opportunities
• Conduct business analysis activities within all phases of the project life cycle
• Develop strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conduct studies for business I&IT initiatives
• Facilitate and lead in-depth workshops to elicit, review and confirm business requirements, business process re-engineering, business models, business rules, user interface design
• Develop performance measure for business analysis evaluation and conduct follow-up
• Analyze, define, develop and recommend business, information and data models for business activities
• Facilitate and manage stakeholder communication throughout the project life cycle
• Define and obtain agreement on business requirements with clients, and oversee I&IT and client management approval process
• Participate in steering committees and other stakeholder forums to ensure business alignment with proposed IT solutions
• Monitor progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to I&IT management and clients' decision makers

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of the software development life cycle, methodologies (such as agile, etc), software design, development and integration, database concepts, user interface design principle, change management, quality assurance, risk management, disaster recovery planning and business continuity planning
• Knowledge of industry trends in complex integrated systems environments, solutions and infrastructure
• Knowledge of procurement best practices to write business requirements, specifications and prepare and evaluate RFPs
• Knowledge of all aspects of business analysis including business analysis and modelling expertise, analysis tools, technology, processes, and methodologies
• Knowledge of business analysis-related technical and business planning

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

• Ability to understand business needs, identify partnership opportunities and match technology solutions to business requirements
• Ability to assess clients' business requirements and identify key elements to develop options and drive solutions
• Ability to assess and revise/develop business analysis tools, methods and best practices
• Ability to identify, research, develop and assess information and data management options, policies, standards and methods
• Ability to determine RFP requirements/specifications

Leadership and Project Management Skills

• Experience participating in and leading business I&IT initiatives
• Ability to lead committees and client dialogues to reach agreement on technological requirements
• Knowledge of change management, service delivery management, resource management best practices and project management (such as planning, resources and budget scheduling and risk management)
• Ability to balance competing demands of projects/clients within time and resource constraints

Consulting and Client Management Skills

• Ability to establish working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to demonstrate cost-benefit analysis of different solutions/technology options and provide advice to stakeholders
• Ability to obtain understanding of business processes, and propose new business processes, solutions and recommendations
• Ability to maintain business relationships and provide ongoing advice, guidance and assistance clients
• Ability to meet established business needs and build consensus with stakeholders

Communication and Collaboration Skills

• Ability to provide advice, lead workshops and working groups and make presentations
• Ability to share knowledge concerning business analysis, trends, standards, methods, and specific solutions
• Ability to negotiate agreements and resolve problems and issues
• Ability to prepare reports, presentations, provide recommendations and ensure process documentation is complete and clear for users who are not specialists in business analysis
