Bring your technical expertise and leadership skills to the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) where you will design, develop, implement, test, maintain and integrate multiple, concurrent and large scale information technology systems solution strategies and projects to meet critical client business requirements.
What can I expect to do in this role?
- Provide senior level technical development and software implementation skills to nurture, enforce & monitor technical excellence practices for the team.
- Provide guidance, advice, mentoring and subject matter expertise.
- Lead and participate in software development projects in an Agile or Iterative environment.
- Maintain software system integrity through code review and awareness of emerging technologies, new systems vulnerabilities, application patterns and best practices.
- Lead consultations with FSCO client program management and peers to provide advice on defining systems requirements and identifying solutions and deliverables suited to client needs.
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge:
- You have knowledge of current technology platforms and system technologies with emphasis on Microsoft Platform including MS Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, ERP, packaged applications, programming languages especially in .Net/ASP, JavaScript and other Web and related technologies, WCAG 2.0.
- You have experience using current versions of Visual Studio & Team Foundation Server to effectively work in a group covering the entire application life cycle including source code repositories, continuous integration, bug and task tracking, testing and Agile planning tools.
- You have quality assurance experience in Agile environments to conduct automated and manual tests to ensure software quality and development of automated test scripts.
- You have knowledge of advanced database management concepts and systems utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and related BI and reporting technologies, database design, optimization and performance troubleshooting.
- You have knowledge of business systems life cycle and process modeling and design techniques, principles and methods, and Agile systems development methodologies and tools to plan and manage large scale, multi-year and high value I&IT projects for the development of systems solutions to meet critical client business requirements.
Leadership Skills:
- You have skills to motivate the team, and ability in facilitating team activities, and can organize team work into a process oriented manner.
- You have practical experience and knowledge of Agile systems development project principles and methodology.
- You can inspire and motivate a high performing team to achieve great results, while supporting individual growth and development.
- You have experience establish best practices that result in the highest quality in our products and service and bring about positive change.
Communication, Consultation & Advisory Skills:
- You can manage stakeholder relations and expectations, prepare reports, presentations and briefings, and provide expertise, advice and recommendations to FSCO officials, senior management and clients.
- You can consult with clients to identify I&IT solutions and advise on technical issues, facilitate participation in the systems design process.
- You can present I&IT strategies and solutions to peers and management, and provide advice regarding approaches to contentious systems issues.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- You can quickly analyze a situation, think and reason clearly, and identify, research and assess appropriate systems issues and needs.
- You can analyze and recommend innovative systems options and integration strategies, and determine optimum systems solutions to meet user needs.
- You can evaluate information or situations, break them down into their key components, consider various ways of approaching and resolving them, and decide on the most appropriate of these ways.
