Are you interested in playing a key role in the implementation of evidence-based decision making in the OPS? Do you have superior quantitative analysis skills and the capacity to merge policy, analytics and evaluation to drive continuous improvement? Can you provide leadership and strategic direction in order to enhance fiscal management and strengthen financial accountability? What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

- undertake and lead projects, and use quantitative analysis and research to derive insights, inform action, and evaluate programs to improve efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability and to support the government's decision making process
- conduct and provide leadership to teams for concurrent, large scale, multi-dimensional data analytics and transformational initiatives
- plan, undertake and coordinate the development of data analytic models, tools and forecasts
- support the use of data and evidence in a public policy setting to strengthen program delivery and financial accountability
- work with line ministries and central agency colleagues in building tools and capacity to support the adoption of the Evidence-Based Decision-Making Framework- develop reports, briefing materials and recommendations to senior level decision-makers relating to the province's fiscal plan, budget and financial allocations and program delivery

How do I qualify?

Technical Skills and Knowledge

- you have expert skills in quantitative analysis (data analytics, forecasting, modelling), statistical analysis, economics, research, financial management and business modernization
- you have knowledge of and skills in evidence-based decision making and related principles, methodology and techniques
- you have skills in policy and program development, including knowledge of environmental factors impacting corporate policy development and implementation

Relationship Management and Consultation Skills

- you have excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, consultation and collaboration skills to build partnerships, manage relationships and provide advice to a range of contacts
- you have demonstrated influencing, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills to facilitate the resolution of issues, achieve consensus among stakeholders, and encourage support for initiatives
- you have knowledge of public consultation principles and methods

Project Management, Leadership and Organizational Skills

- you have strong project management, team leadership and training skills
- you can organize work objectives and optimize other team members' contributions to achieve expected results
- you can deal with time pressures, conflicting priorities and unexpected changes to deadlines

Research, Analytical and Computer Skills

- you have proficient analytical, research and problem solving skills to evaluate statistical data and develop a comprehensive approach to forecasting, modelling and quantitative analysis
- you have computer-based quantitative skills for database development and application, data and information management, data analysis and presentations/visualization, statistical software, and web-based applications
- you can interpret complex policies and guidelines

Issues Management and Decision Making Skills

- you demonstrate political acuity and decision making skills to manage confidential information and lead consultations on politically sensitive issues and projects
- you can determine the appropriate course of action and make recommendations to resolve contentious and complex issues
