What can I expect to do in this role?

• lead the development of strategic communications plans and products to support ministry initiatives
• manage complex communications plans and projects
• work in a fast paced environment with a wide range of files, including emergency and crisis communications

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

You possess French language oral and written skills at the Advanced level.

Technical and Leadership skills

You have:
•demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, communications practices, tools and techniques as well as expert knowledge of strategic communications planning and products including digital and social media
•project leadership skills with the ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines
•the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team

Consultation and Communication skills

You have:
•exceptional relationship management and conflict management skills to develop effective partnerships with stakeholders and colleagues
•strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
•excellent writing, editing and presentation skills
•ability to participate in policy discussions and program development, consulting with key ministry partners

Research and Analytical skills

•You have strong research and analytical skills to provide thorough, accurate environmental assessment as part of the strategic communications planning and implementation process and to evaluate plans, products and outcomes and make recommendations for future planning activities.
