Your knowledge, skills and experiences in Probation Services are essential to this key role of Assistant Area Manager. Your sound technical background will give you the foundation needed to grow in this management position.
This position will be responsible for providing support to the Kenora and Red Lake Probation and Parole area offices and it's surrounding areas.

In this role, you will:
• provide leadership and manage Probation and Parole Staff
• implement and oversee service delivery and the case management review process
• monitor compliance with ministry operational, program, safety and security policies and standards
• directly supervise staff by providing technical guidance, support, coaching and expertise
• determine work priorities and approve and recommend training assignments
• complete the performance development plan process for assigned staff
• provide coverage when the Area Manager is absent
The successful candidate may be required to provide Assistant Area Manager support to additional offices in the Region.

• You have demonstrated skills to design proactive solutions to identify and resolve internal inadequacies and avoid potential problems
• You have change management skills and you are able to adapt to change and lead and inspire others to integrate changes within the work environment
• You can work effectively within a variety of situations by organizing and prioritizing tasks and actions
Communication, Interpersonal, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution Skills:
• You have proven oral and written communication skills to communicate complex and technical terms
• You have negotiation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to jointly work with staff to set standards and achieve high performance while holding them accountable
