Our Revenue Accounting Office is seeking a Financial Projects Analyst to conduct moderately complex financial activities involving the implementation of strategic plans, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting for the assigned clients and projects.
What can I expect to do in this role?
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs high level analysis of financial data to create financial models and reports that support initial project summaries and recommendations
• Reviews contracts to identify issues, develop financial models for cost benefit analysis and projects, and prepare summaries and recommendations related to identified issues.
• Leads small projects including resource coordination, and making significant decisions and recommendations to management.
• Researches and studies internal clients' businesses, their infrastructure, and the markets in which they operate, to be able to explain trends and variances critical to Metrolinx's financial performance.
• Maintains and expands current database used to track various Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the organization; interprets and explains conclusions and recommendations derived from the KPI database.
• Evaluates financial risk, prepares financial forecasts, and assesses financial performance concerning capital and operation management.

How do I qualify?
Qualifications:
• Completion of a diploma in Accounting or a related field – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and/or Chartered Accountant (CA) designations would be an asset.
• Experience preparing financial models and reports to conduct analysis and identify related issues.
• Experience evaluating net risk and preparing financial forecasts to assess financial performance concerning capital and operation management.
• Experience with contract administration and analysis to identify issues, conduct cost-benefit analysis and prepare recommendations related to identified issues.
• Advanced excel skills including the creation of spreadsheets would be an asset.
