What can I expect to do in this role?

The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Uniform Recruitment, Career Development Bureau requires a qualified individual to plan, develop and execute social media communication strategies that support and promote Uniform Recruitment and to effectively coordinate strategic social media programs within Uniform Recruitment.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of and skill in social media platforms and internet search engines to conduct research and knowledge of social media marketing and media relation theories, trends, techniques, strategies and practices.

Knowledge of print, broadcast and web media monitoring services.

Research skills and knowledge of practices, writing/editing techniques, grammar, punctuation and spelling, policies, writing standards and media/public information release standards.

Knowledge of event management techniques to organize and deliver events such as news conferences and special campaign events.

Knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Suite and OneNote.

Sufficient knowledge of the elements of visual design.

Problem solving skills to research, create, analyze and evaluate effective communication strategies. with the ability to recognize, understand, anticipate, assess and resolve communications issues and to think conceptually with a long-term perspective considering how current communication tactics might be affected by future developments.

Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Judgement in determining appropriate communication strategies and the ability to provide expertise and social communication advice and to participate in discussions.

Understanding of personal attitudes and values related to diversity and contributes to a welcoming environment.
