The Centre welcomes 900,000 visitors each year, and offers hands-on experiences and insights into science and technology that help visitors of all ages understand and contribute to the world around us.

Note: The number of positions to be filled has not been identified at this time . Please note that these positions are irregularly scheduled for 0-36.25 hours per week with no guaranteed minimum.

What can I expect to do in this role?

What can I expect from this role?

As a part-time Science Presenter, you will present innovative and engaging curriculum-correlated science and technology programs and workshops to students and teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Available for work a minimum of two full weekdays.

How do I qualify?

Presentation and Communication Skills

You have:
• Excellent and engaging communication and presentation skills.
• Adaptable and responsive presentation style (able to meet the needs of the individual classes and students).
• The ability to work with students of all ages and abilities.
• Excellent customer service skills and commitment to visitor care.
• The ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• The ability to motivate others and demonstrates active listening skills.

Technical Skills and Knowledge of Science

You have:
•Demonstrated knowledge of one or more of: biology, biochemistry, physics, space sciences, chemistry, and technology.
•Familiarity with Ontario science and technology curriculum for kindergarten to grade 12; 21st century skills (including critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication); scientific inquiry skills; and STEAM based learning.
•Experience working with learning simulations and information technology.
•Fluency in French language is an asset

Organizational Skills

•Organization, time management, and prioritization skills, and ability to switch quickly between conflicting priorities.
•Excellent critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
