The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is looking for a part-time Licensing Agent to provide support for horse racing licensing functions.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Manager of Horse Racing Eligibility, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Reviewing new and renewal online licensing applications in the AGCO's new online service portal (iAGCO)
• Communicating with applicants and licensees by telephone and in writing
• Providing in-person support to horsepersons by assisting them with using iAGCO
• Providing assistance to Racing Officials, Commission Veterinarians and/or other on-site AGCO personnel as required.

2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

*Additional hours may be required during Qualifying Races (Schedule TBC)

How do I qualify?

Ideally, candidates will possess:

• Fluency in both English and French – spoken and written
• Strong computer skills with an aptitude for learning new systems
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist end-users in understanding how to use an online service portal
• The ability to exercise sound judgement and make complex decisions under pressure
• General knowledge of the AGCO's Rules of Racing, the Horse Racing Licence Act, 2015 and its regulations would be an asset
• Strong written communication skills with attention to detail
• The ability to work independently.
• The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a Criminal Background check.
