Do you consider yourself to be a highly organized and enthusiastic team player who excels working in a fast paced and high volume environment? If so, consider joining the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services team within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

As the Aviation Support Clerk you will have the opportunity to apply your exceptional administrative and organizational skills to provide support to the Aviation Services Section.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• respond to general inquiries in-person, over the phone and by email
• sort, record and distribute correspondence and incoming mail
• review flight logs for errors or omissions and maintain aircraft technical records as required
• prepare, update and review a variety of material such as manuals, training records, correspondence, reports and log sheets
• coordinate and monitor vehicle logs, daily sign out sheets and invoices for rental/leased vehicles
• make travel arrangements and coordinate logistics for meetings and conferences
• maintain and ensure sufficient levels of office supplies

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Must have a class 'G' driver's licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario.

Administrative Knowledge and Skills:

• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant administrative manuals, policies and procedures and internal office standards.
• You can perform a variety of administrative duties such as greeting visitors, taking messages, redirecting calls and preparing, formatting and editing a variety of correspondence and other documentation.
• You are proficient with filing systems to maintain files, training and certification records.
• You have knowledge of the operation of office equipment such as photocopier, facsimile and printers.

Organizational and Judgement Skills:

• you are able to organize and coordinate workflow, assess priorities and meet deadlines.
• you exercise tact, discretion and good judgment while working with confidential and sensitive information.

Interpersonal and Communication skills:

• You have well developed communication skills to communicate with internal ministry staff as well as the public both in-person and by telephone.
• You have written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence and documents and proofread to ensure completeness, accuracy and proper formatting.
• You have demonstrated interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with clients and suppliers.

Computer Skills:

• You are proficient with computer applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet/Intranet and Outlook, to assist in day to day processing of information and to produce high-quality letters, reports, and internal documents.
• You have experience inputting and retrieving information from database systems such as WIN and IFIS.
