Consider this challenging opportunity in the Superior Court of Justice, where you will assist in coordinating and scheduling cases in criminal courts.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Your responsibilities will include:

• assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices
• processing documents and orders
• liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters
• identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s)
• assisting in the preparation of statistical information

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• You must possess oral and written French language skills at the advanced plus level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Qualifications:

• organizational, coordination and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings
• ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• judgement and problem solving skills
• ability to work independently and as part of a team
• analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data
• communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel and the public
• knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior and/or Ontario Court of Justice, relevant legislation and legal terminology
• proficiency with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet and management information systems)
