Come showcase your strong I&IT leadership and analytical skills in supporting the planning, development and implementation of technical solutions for the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility's AODA Compliance and Enforcement Branch.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Division (AODD) oversees the development, implementation and enforcement of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 and its regulation O.Reg. 191/11 Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR).

The AODA Compliance and Enforcement Branch works to:
• Ensure organizations understand and comply with provincial accessibility standards by conducting audits and enforcement activities as required.
• Continuously improve compliance activities by developing, piloting and implementing innovative compliance approaches and refining existing processes.
• Conduct analytics to support evidence-based compliance efforts and decision-making.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• assist in the development and implementation of new/re-engineered business processes, standards and practices
• develop detailed business project plans and identify alternative business design options/solutions
• perform post-implementation reviews to assess performance and support continuous improvement
• research trends, developments and best practices in business and data analysis
• provide advice and recommendations on new, enhanced or customized processes supported by IT solutions
• consult with clients on situation-specific and general business processes, practices and methods
• provide timely analysis of implications for proposed business processes/practice changes and anticipate/manage potential risks
• provide leadership to external consultants to ensure applications are implemented successfully and business objectives are met
• participate on working groups, committees and projects to provide business and data analyses, information reports and recommendations

How do I qualify?

Business Knowledge and Leadership:

• you have knowledge of business process modelling and capability maturity modelling
• you have knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• you have the ability to develop and implement approved new/re-engineered business processes and standards
• you have the ability to lead clients, project teams and external consultants to derive business requirements, functional testing, training and deployment of technology solutions
• you have knowledge of IT Service Management principles

Analytical and Research Skills:

• you have analytical skills to conduct business and data analysis and research of client requirements, business processes, data requirements and process workflow
• you have experience researching trends, developments and best practices in business and data analysis
• you can revise/develop business and data analysis tools, methods and practices, and use them to assess/review results and determine key elements to drive process improvement
• you have the ability to conduct risk assessments and identify recommendations for mitigating risks

Consultation, Collaboration and Negotiation Skills:

• you have consultation and collaboration skills to obtain understanding of business processes, and propose new/re- engineered business processes
• you have negotiation skills to build consensus among business areas involving various stakeholders
• you have the ability to share/transfer knowledge concerning business and data analysis, trends, standards, methods, and specific solutions
• you can co-ordinate work with clients, stakeholders and partners and expedite progress

Communication Skills:

• you have written communication skills prepare reports, presentations and accurate and clear process documentation instructions and information
• you have well-developed oral communication skills to provide information/instructions and recommendations to clients and senior management
