Are you a Nurse Manager with experience leading staff and building teams? If so, bring your knowledge of mental healthcare and your leadership attributes and managerial skills to the role of Manager, Mental Health Services at the Toronto South Detention Centre where you will oversee the delivery of mental healthcare services to inmates with diverse needs.

The Toronto South Detention Centre is Ontario's largest maximum security detention centre and health care services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

This position conducts work on-site at the Toronto South Detention Centre located at 160 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, Toronto.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will use your management skills, coupled with your knowledge of mental health care processes to oversee the delivery of patient-centered, mental health care to inmates in a correctional facility to:
• supervise, plan, and coordinate the daily operations of the mental health care team
• coordinate, direct and evaluate mental health care programs
• ensure the delivery of efficient, quality mental health care services including nursing, psychiatric and, specialized care units• coordinate and liaise with various internal and external partners regarding the mental health care of inmates
• maintain records and statistics to identify trends and developments that have critical program/service delivery, policy and planning implications and formulates recommendations for mitigation

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

• You are currently registered as a Registered Nurse in good standing with the Colleges of Nurses of Ontario

• The successful candidate will be required to be registered for a mental health nurse certification program upon job offer and complete certification requirements within a specified period of time

The ministry will accept the following certification or proof of enrolment:

• Canadian Nurses Association – Current Psychiatric and Mental Health Certification
• Centre for Addiction and Mental Health - Concurrent Disorders Certification
• Accredited Colleges in Canada – Mental Health Certification
