What can I expect to do in this role?
• Handle a variety of administrative and financial tasks
• Provide customer service and respond to inquiries from the public, private and industrial clients
• Provide office reception, mail, filing and clerical functions
• Create and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and file classification system
• Prepare correspondence, reports and presentations
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
You must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
Administrative Knowledge and Skills:
• you have experience providing administrative and financial support
• you have proven knowledge of general office administration functions
• you have knowledge of filing and records management practices and procedures
• you have an understanding of purchasing and budgetary policies and procedures
• you know how to use computers and relevant software such as word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation applications
Prioritization and Problem-Solving Skills
• you can prioritize multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines
• you demonstrate strong judgment when responding to the public and government staff and direct them as required
• you can determine the appropriate response to difficult inquiries
• you can identify issues, propose solutions, and take corrective actions
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• you can communicate information in a clear manner
• you can prepare a variety of written communication materials (e.g. correspondence, emails, memos) and proofread documents for accuracy and grammar
• you work well with others and provide courteous customer service to the public, staff, and all levels of government
