What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role you will:
• Assist in the processing of reimbursement requests.
• Provide telephone services by answering calls and providing information to the general public; place outbound calls to respond to messages from clients (e.g., patients, pharmacists, or physicians).
• Perform general clerical tasks such as: receive, sort and distribute mail; ensuring office equipment is maintained and in working order (request for technical support when needed); maintain files and archiving of material when required in accordance with Ministry policies.
How do I qualify?
Administrative Skills:
• You have knowledge of office procedures to provide administrative and clerical support.
• You have experience with electronic and manual file management systems, records management, retention, storage and retrieval processes.
• You have a general understanding PHIPA and FIPPA (privacy legislation) in order to ensure proper confidentiality when providing responses to telephone inquiries or providing information.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You can respond to requests from callers for information on routine matters that may include the status of recent requests, and related questions, and to ensure that responses are provided tactfully and politely to meet customer service standards.
• You can document and record information from telephone calls and respond to emails as required.
• You have the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Analytical and Organizational Skills:
• You can detect errors when entering information from requests into files and forms ensuring there is no missing information (e.g. patient's date of birth or Health Card number).
• You have the ability to locate and retrieve data by performing database searches of the files.
• You have demonstrated ability to determine priorities, organize work and meet strict deadlines.
Other Essential Skills:
• You are proficient with computers and able to use various software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet.
• You have knowledge of office maintenance such as repairs and services for office equipment and furniture and changing toners in printers and photocopiers as required.
