Bring your Software Quality Assurance (QA) and analytical skills as a System Analyst. This position will involve playing a key role within the various OntTax and .NET projects, in providing and maintaining Software Quality Assurance Framework Methodology established for the Central Applications Branch (CAB). It will be paramount in meeting the on-going demands of multiple projects within CAB's portfolio in delivering quality applications to our clients and the citizens of Ontario.
Note: This position is located at 33 King Street West, Oshawa; however, alternate work arrangements, including flexible hours, telework (remote work), and a compressed work week may be available.What can I expect to do in this role?
As a Systems Analyst, you will:
• Collaborate with other peers, developers, local clients, and stakeholders and provide significant and continuous on-site project engagement.
• Assess and develop requirements to realize certain business objectives and project design.
• Attend requiremends-gathering meetings and engage with all stakeholders.
• Create requirements Traceability Matrix – reviews and signoffs are part of this process with project stakeholders.
• Develop QA Strategy, decide the scope for testing, and connect the test objectives to the requirement specifications – reviews and signoffs are part of this process with project stakeholders.
• Develop and design QA Test Plan – reviews and signoffs are part of this process with project stakeholders.
• Author the Quality Assurance Test Cases and Execution scripts – reviews by various stakeholders are part of this process.
• Execute all test cases in the QA Test Plan and provide Test Status Reports.
• Conduct daily and weekly defect meetings and defect reports until QA Signoff.
• Support UAT testing during UAT Phase of a Project.
• Support the QA Coordinator in providing final QA Signoffs.
• Perform Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) Compliance Testing.
• Carry out analysis on projects in relation to the business needs of clients and their programs.
• Conduct systems analysis and design, data requirements, user application, and systems specifications requirements.
• Provide production and maintenance support activities.
• Provide testing in every aspect of implementation systems and applications.
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
• You have an in-depth knowledge of Software Quality Assurance/Testing and AODA Compliance Testing in a Client /Server Midrange and Mainframe environment.
• You have knowledge of theory and principles of systems design and development, and related methods, techniques, practices and standards to conduct analysis and definition of client business and information technology requirements.
• You have knowledge of project planning methodology and theory to support business planning process.
Analytical and Research Skills:
• You have analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and identify clients' business needs
• You have research skills and commitment to continuous learning, and maintain current knowledge of trends and advancement in information technology.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have verbal communication skills to discuss clients' requirements, recommendations and their impact.
• You have written communication skills to prepare project QA Artefacts, reports, presentations on analysis and recommendations, systems documentation and manuals.
