About the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB)
The LTB is a quasi-judicial tribunal which, through its mediation adjudication services, is responsible for resolving landlord and tenant applications filed under the Residential Tenancies Act, such as disputes between residential landlords and tenants and eviction applications filed by non-profit housing co-operatives.

The LTB also provides information about its practices and procedures and the rights and responsibilities of landlords and tenants under the Act.

The Opportunity:
Are you a customer service oriented individual who wants to be on the front line providing comprehensive information and options to empower Landlord and Tenant Board clients in difficult situations? Would you enjoy working in a fast paced, high volume, dynamic organization? If so, consider this opportunity with the Ministry of the Attorney General at the Landlord & Tenant Board!

What can I expect to do in this role?

Within a virtual call centre and in-person over the counter, you will:
• provide comprehensive information, education and assistance to the public regarding the rights and obligations of landlords and tenants under the Residential Tenancies Act including rent regulation issues and application procedures
• outline options to clients in difficult situations
• accept and process applications and fees
• review, verify and process draft Orders in a case management system
• proofread Orders for clarity and verify mathematical calculations

How do I qualify?

Mandatory (for bilingual positions only)

• You must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Customer Service and Communication Skills:

• You have experience working in a call-centre environment and providing service to clients in person
• You can respond to upset clients and handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy
• You have good listening skills and are able to find solutions to problems
• You are able to communicate with staff and clients well both in writing and verbally
• You have experience preparing various documents such as draft legal documents
• You can explain information well over the phone or in person

Other Essential Skills:

• You are able to analyze and evaluate information
• You can interpret and apply legislation and work in a judicial and quasi-judicial environment
• You pay strong attention to details and can set priorities and multi-task well
• You are well organized and can work with changing priorities and still meet deadlines when under pressure
• You are able to work with databases and other software programs to produce various documents such as letters and draft Orders
• You have demonstrated cash management and revenue intake skills to accept and process applications and fees
