Ontario Place Corporation is an agency of the Government of Ontario and manages Ontario Place, a site that features 155 acres of breathtaking waterfront property in Toronto. This iconic location is a venue for activities, live music, festivals, events and more. Ontario Place operates the Cinesphere, marina, parking lots, site rentals and management of Trillium Park and William G. Davis Trail.

We are seeking an innovative leader who will provide strategic planning and leadership as well as operational planning to support various programs and activations, development of customer experiences and refinement of existing business processes.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Provide senior level strategic direction and leadership in the development, design, implementation and evaluation of strategies and long-term business solutions through programming, activations and partnerships to address and support the corporations transforming business needs.
• Manage the planning, marketing and operation of the Cinesphere, on-site venues and programs that contribute to revenue generation and visitor/client experience goals.
• Lead the tendering, negotiation and management of contractual agreements with major service providers and contractors responsible for supporting Ontario Place's programming and operations of the various venues.
• Develop strategic plans on various programming and partnership initiatives for future business opportunities on the site and marketing that support revenue and market share growth.

Please note: Attendance at the office will be required five (5) days a week during the operating season and a hybrid approach for remote arrangement will be available during the off-season.

Strategic Leadership Skills:

• You have leadership experience and the ability to inspire, engage, motivate, develop and mentor staff to deliver results during on-going change and transformation.
• You are a collaborative leader and have incorporated the principles of inclusion and diversity across all elements of your management style.
• You have demonstrated success in fostering an environment of continuous improvement, creativity and excellence.
• You have experience leading complex projects, effectively utilizing resources and prioritizing tasks to deliver results.
• You have excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills along with a strong sense of political acuity to deal with a variety of sensitive issues
• You can manage a team, and you can plan, organize, and coordinate the work of the office to ensure effective and efficient business operations.
• You have strong relationship-building and negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to develop and nurture business partner relationships

Technical Skills:

• You demonstrate knowledge of financial and administrative procedures, to develop, manage and control allocated financial and material resources, including developing annual budgets and managing assets.
• You can assess the effectiveness of all change and transformation initiatives and ensure a smooth transition and Corporation-wide implementation of transformation initiatives and projects.
• You have proven project management skills to coordinate multiple complex and time sensitive initiatives.
• You can prepare strategic business cases, feasibility assessments, and briefing notes.
• You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in business development and strategic planning to support initiatives and strategies that will stimulate visitor growth, customer loyalty and successfully market Ontario Place service offerings.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• You can establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information flow and identification of issues.
• You have experience presenting options and strategies, and providing sound, strategic advice and briefings to senior executives.

Technical Knowledge:

• You can identify market trends, visitor needs and related business operations to provide leadership and marketing direction to support the development and delivery of effective programs and revenue generation.
• You have knowledge and hands-on experience with theatre and production practices including an understanding of theatre operations, projection, audio visual and technical systems to oversee theatre operations and other programming venues on site.
• You have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical, functional, and scheduling issues efficiently.
