What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role you will:
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a team of technical professionals in order to meet business requirements and support continuous improvement and innovation.
• Lead and manage the business/operational planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of
of tax credit programs.
• Manage the budget and contributes to long term financial and resource planning including all procurement activities.
• Lead and oversee partnership development and stakeholder consultation processes.
• Provide technical advice and expertise to senior ministry management and staff on tax credit legislation, program delivery options and recommendations.
• Manage the human resources administrative function.

Leadership Skills:
• You demonstrate the
leadership behaviours, attributes and mindsets to lead the OPS into the future.
• You have demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring staff and providing guidance by communicating values, strategies, goals and objectives to create a culture of high performance, and accountability.
• You have demonstrated experience working in or with the creative media industries.
• You have been successful in promoting equitable practices that value diversity and inclusion into your work environment.
• You can lead the delivery of programs and services, as well as projects that are in line with program mandate.
• You have the ability to manage change and lead through difficult situations.
Technical Knowledge:
• You have the ability to interpret and accurately apply policy and legislation related to Tax Credits programs.
• You have knowledge of the creative industry to promote the province of Ontario, and build capacity, competitiveness and long-term viability of the cultural industries.
• You have strong knowledge of human resources practices, policies including collective agreements, recruitment, training and development, labour relations, and performance management.
Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills:
• You can build cooperative and collaborative relationships across the OPS, other government levels and internal/external stakeholders to foster key linkages and identify program delivery issues and priorities.
• You can effectively manage expectations and anticipate and resolve major obstacles and conflicts.
• You have presentation and consultative skills to develop and deliver presentations and briefings to senior management and committee chairs.
