Under the direction of the Manager, Information Management and Access Unit, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team managing the access of information in the ministry through the freedom of information and open government programs.

What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• lead and coordinate the development, implementation, and delivery of the ministry's Freedom of Information and Open Government programs.
• provide expert advice, guidance and recommendations regarding the interpretation and application of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
• prepare internal and external correspondence and communication materials.
• develop plans, strategies, and training for ministry clients to promote effective information management stewardship, transparency, and accountability across the ministry.
• represent the ministry on inter/intra-ministry committees and working groups related to information management and access.
• manage and respond to requests that have extreme tight timelines.
How do I qualify?
Specialized Knowledge:
You have:
• the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), including associated case laws, precedents, supporting policies, and guidelines to analyze records and process ministry requests.
• the ability to obtain and apply knowledge of emerging trends in information and access management program models and methods to ensure ministry programs, policies, and products are delivered through the use of leading-edge technology and business practices.
• knowledge of risk assessment methods and techniques to identify contentious and politically sensitive issues.
Relationship Management, Communication and Presentation Skills:
• You have relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills to persuasively present positions, generate agreement on solutions and recommendations, encourage compliance, build consensus and resolve issues with tact and diplomacy.
• You have effective oral and written communication skills to prepare information and correspondence, deliver presentations and provide advice to ministry staff and members of the public.
• You can establish effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and work in a team environment.
Research, Analysis, and Problem-solving Skills:
