Here's your opportunity to work with the Enforcement Branch in the Provincial Services Division with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

About Us
The Enforcement Branch's mission is to safeguard the public interest by leading and delivering outreach and natural resource compliance services. The branch's conservation officers enforce over 25 acts and regulations, and work from 48 locations across the province to lead year-round field compliance service delivery. As a Compliance Systems Specialist, you will assist in the delivery of this important work by providing support to conservation officers on specific applications and technology, and by leading file and data management initiatives across the branch.

Note: The successful candidates will have the option of working from the following office locations:

• 1235 Queen Street East, Sault Ste Marie

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Compliance Systems Specialist, you will:

• investigate new or emerging technology to support the branch
• plan, develop, and/or implement information and technology activities, including file plans, retention schedules, GIS maps, application/database upgrades, and new business software tools
• address branch's information management and information technology operational requirements by supporting and troubleshooting branch databases and software, maintaining computer and printer inventory, and creating custom software reports
• develop and deliver information management and information technology training

How do I qualify?

Technical/Specialized Knowledge

You have:
• knowledge and experience in information management, security, design and development concepts
• knowledge and experience in IT systems, analysis, reports, security, design and development concepts
• knowledge of adult training and education techniques and the methods used to identify training requirements
• knowledge and experience in working with personal computers, local and wide area networks, and commonly used software

Analytical, Problem-Solving, and Organizational Skills

• You can review new systems, develop and implement end user services, and assess user training and support needs.
• You have demonstrated ability to create and follow a plan.
• You can work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

You can:
• consult with clients to identify business needs and work with IT Cluster staff to translate these needs into system requirements
• collaboratively problem solve recurring end user issues
• prepare and provide training to end users
• write procedures and guidelines
