The Architecture Security & Privacy Consulting Services (ASP) Unit provides I&IT project support to CAC partner ministries by leading the design and development of business, information and solution architecture; and by developing reusable business and information architecture baselines. The Unit also leads the development of Technology Roadmaps to help the organization align investment priorities with the corporate strategy.
In this role, you will be assigned to a variety of projects to provide architecture expertise and technology roadmap development. You will have the opportunity to work with leading technologies on an interesting and diverse range of projects.
NOTE: This position is located at 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto or 33 King Street West Oshawa, however, alternate work arrangements including flexible hours, hybrid remote work, and compressed work week may be available.

What can I expect to do in this role?
As a Senior I&IT Architect, you will:
• Provide expertise and leadership in the delivery of information technology (IT) architecture, architecture frameworks, strategies and methodologies on enterprise architecture (EA), specifically in the application and technology architecture domains.
• Manage the planning, design, delivery and implementation of architecture solutions for large scale, complex, multi-year I&IT projects required to meet the critical business requirements of our ministry client(s) impacting external stakeholders.
• Contribute to, evaluate and lead the development of architecture policies, standards, guidelines and best practices affecting multi-ministry/Cluster initiatives.
• Support and/or lead the development of the CAC Technology Roadmap and Investment Planning.
• Work with development and UX teams to build products that improve the lives of the public using iterative/agile approach
• Produce design concepts for digital services and ensures that specifications and new features follow standards in delivering a user-centric solutions
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge:
• You have expertise in I&IT enterprise architecture (Business, Information, Application, Technology and Security), IT strategies, enterprise architecture principles/methodologies/ Frameworks (Zachman/TOGAF) and guidelines for enterprise architecture artefacts and processes
• You have strong expertise and experience in business and modelling, business and data analysis, and business/information architecture.
• You have experience in using PowerDesigner.
• You have experience in delivering and reviewing architecture artefacts.
• You have knowledge of business process & data modelling, analysis,and re-engineering.
• You have knowledge of emerging trends in digital communications in order to provide advice and guidance to meet needs, goals and opportunities
• You have a passion for technology, building user-centric products (cloud (Ex: MS Azure, AWS) security, privacy, data sensitivity, accessibility)
Consulting & Interpersonal Skills:
• You can lead the delivery and design of architecture in collaboration with project implementation activities.
• You can provide guidance and training to project teams and consultants retained for design, architecture and project implementation activities.
• You can establish effective working relationships, obtain buy-in for systems design and development, promote design and architecture options of systems to senior management and stakeholders, to obtain decision-making.
• You can consult with stakeholders and clients to advise on technical issues.
• You can facilitate discussions among stakeholders with different interests.
• You can encourage participation in the systems analysis, design and implementation process.
• You can negotiate customer service agreements and resource requirements with client senior management and other IT groups.
• You can provide advice and recommendations to stakeholders, management, and staff regarding most effective design, architecture and system implementation strategies.
• You can provide guidance and training to project teams on design, architecture and project implementation activities.
Research and Analytical Skills:
• You can develop architectural solutions to meet complex, multi-year plans, spanning multiple internal/external stakeholders and broadly defined business objectives.
• You can resolve significant integration and technical issues to address multiple systems/applications linkages interdependencies and impacts where requirements are not initially clear.
• You can research and recommend innovative application, data and systems architecture alternatives with integration strategies.
• You can develop appropriate performance measures that are adaptive and responsive to address the continuous introduction of new and emerging technologies, use of unfamiliar or unproven technology, broadly defined or undefined business and systems requirements.
Communication Skills:
• You can present IT strategies and solutions to senior management and stakeholders.
• You can provide advice regarding approaches to contentious design, architecture and implementation issues.
• You can deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders and interview highly skilled IT professionals.
• You can lead planning sessions with corporate IT groups and stakeholders.
• You can work in great details, but still focus on broad strategic issues.
Project Management:
• You have knowledge and experience in project management, including scoping, planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, measuring, monitoring and controlling, to manage multiple, concurrent, complex large-scale projects for architecture development.
• You can plan and coordinate all phases of complex multi ministry/cluster architecture for systems supporting both internal/external clients and stakeholders.
• You have the ability to apply risk management and quality management techniques, and recommend innovative alternatives to meet client/ministry needs.
• You can lead project status meetings and other cluster/corporate committees to discuss/determine strategy for architecture priorities and change management directions.
