What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• provide statistical, analytical and client expertise in assigned portfolio of transfer payment programs and services
• conduct analysis, evaluation and assessment of program data including trends, comparative analyses, performance indicators and prepare reports
• design and conduct modelling and analysis in order to support development of funding allocation methodologies for the Employment and Training Division
• participate on projects and lead intra/inter-ministerial project teams and working groups
• lead the preparation of program portfolio specific reports, data and visualizations on provincial, regional and agency profiles

How do I qualify?

Research, Data and Statistical Analysis skills:

• You have demonstrated data interpretation and modeling skills
• You have the proven ability to apply the principles and techniques of analysis to identify patterns found in historical data in order to identify risks and opportunities.
• You have experience applying other forms of qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify trends and anomalies and to interpret findings.

Program and Policy Development knowledge:

• You have an understanding of the role and use of client and program information and data in program administration, policy development, forecasting, program planning, evaluation and outcome measurement to ensure data integrity.
• You have the ability to apply policy development processes to provide input into the development of new program and service design and delivery enhancements.
• You have the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply organizational mandates, related legislation, regulations, ministry policies/priorities and related government policy direction to provide information and advice to staff and senior management.
• You have the proven ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, regulations, directives and guidelines such as the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act that govern the collection, dissemination and posting of program and client data.

Information and Information Technology skills:

• You are proficient with specific software (e.g. .g. Access, Excel) to make database queries and produce ad hoc reports that are accurate and complete.
• You have the ability to apply data processing and warehousing, information management processes and business intelligence tools to facilitate data gathering and analysis.
• You are proficient with computer applications for visualization, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and databases to prepare briefing materials, presentations, correspondence, visualizations and to establish/utilize tools to support data analysis and report preparation.

Communication and Interpersonal skills:

• You have exhibited communication skills to respond to information requests, prepare reports and briefing materials, and present complex data/information in a manner that will inform non-technical staff and senior management and support data driven decision making.
• You have consultation and advisory skills to discuss data findings and concerns, communicate changes in program information management systems and make recommendations.
• You have presentation, persuasion and facilitation skills to encourage participation in building a data driven culture, present training and information sessions/workshops, and provide briefings to senior management.
• You have collaboration and networking skills to participate on committees and working groups, promote and develop partnerships with stakeholders and exchange information.

Project management skills:

• You have the proven ability to successfully apply project management methodologies, processes and guidelines to plan, lead and coordinate project teams.
