What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• lead and conduct the analysis, development and documentation of business needs, design, and architecture for digital solutions
• lead the development of test plans, integration and implementation of digital solutions and provide advice and recommendations for improvements
• use standard tools, techniques and methodologies for analyzing, developing and integrating information, business and system requirements to ensure effective system design quality, productivity and integrity
• identify and analyze information, systems and business needs and recommend I&IT strategies
• participate in the project team, provide technical guidance to staff and coordinate the design, development, and testing of systems applications
• provide consultation to clients in the development and implementation of business applications and processes
• identify potential implementation issues and risks, provide input and recommendations and identify client impacts
• provide leadership and guidance to project teams on information and business requirements and make presentations to program management, clients and technical staff

How do I qualify?

Analytical and Interpretive Reasoning Skills

• you have the ability to identify and analyze client needs relative to delivery requirements and business goals
• you have the ability to analyze system needs and conduct feasibility studies, including cost/benefit analysis, investigate alternatives and recommend business solutions
• you have the ability to identify and assess areas for system improvements, conduct evaluations, advise on benefits of new technology and recommend acquisition
• you can identify potential implementation issues, risks and client impacts and provide recommendations and process improvements

Technical Knowledge

• you have demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, I&IT technology and tools such as hardware, software, networks, data, applications, networking, and security
• you have demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, techniques and methods such as systems analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, installation, operations, capacity planning, and performance management
• you have the ability to perform systems analysis, system design, and business consultation and provide information management expertise in support of solution design, development, testing, and implementation
• you have the ability to translate client business requirements into functional and information documentation
• you have demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading technical aspects of projects through all stages of the System Development Life Cycle

Communication, Consultative and Interpersonal Skills

• you can prepare project reports, analyses, recommendations, systems documentation, and manuals
• you have experience making presentations and explaining technical solutions to non-technical staff and clients
• you have the ability to present and discuss recommendations and drawbacks of proposals on business systems applications and solutions
• you can effectively develop client relationships, discuss client I&IT service delivery needs, and participate in technical aspects of project teams
• you have the ability to encourage support for the recommended approach
• you can train and support clients after implementation of new or modified application systems

Project Management Skills

• you have the ability to conduct business system development projects, develop design specifications and cost estimates, plan schedules, resources and time estimates, provide guidance and prepare technical documentation
