The Digital Recruitment Modernization (DRM) project team within the Talent Strategy and Digital Experience Branch (TSDE) in the Talent and Leadership Division (TLD) is looking for a content design and communications specialist that is passionate about people-centered design, is committed to inclusive design principles, and is looking to be involved in an exciting transformative project!

What we do
The TSDE Branch proactively enables the enterprise to meet talent needs and challenges by:
• Advancing the integration, development, measurement, and continuous improvement of the integrated talent management framework,
• Leading strategic, cross-functional initiatives that drive the success of the TLD business plan and priorities, and
• Driving digital transformation for user centric TLD programs, services, and business processes by managing and improving digital talent applications, supporting their adoption, and facilitating digital skill growth within TLD.

The DRM team is driving digital transformation in recruitment by providing a modern, digital talent acquisition solution and optimized recruitment process that better enables sourcing, hiring and deployment of talent. This includes:
• Enhancing the recruitment experience through research, testing, continuous improvement, and a user-centric lens to configure and implement a new talent acquisition solution.
• Applying a consistent focus on inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility to proactively address employment barriers in the recruitment experience.
• Managing change through partnerships, communication, training, and customer support strategies that facilitate awareness, desire, knowledge, and abilities required for the successful adoption of a new talent acquisition solution.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will be essential in making it easier for job seekers, hiring managers, and recruitment staff navigate the recruitment journey by designing, writing, and editing customized talent acquisition solution content based on well researched user needs for internal and public consumption. This includes Ontario.ca, the province's flagship website, new digital talent solution and internal communication channels.

How do I qualify?

Web Writing and Content Design:

• You have experience in web writing and editing to deliver high-quality user experience
• You have experience in digital content strategy and design
• You have expertise in synthesizing complex information and communicating it in a way that is clear and easy to understand.

Digital Expertise:

• You have knowledge of emerging trends in UX and content design to advise on strategy.
• You have experience delivering digital products and services.
• You have strong knowledge of and experience with current web trends (e.g., analytics and design), and standards (e.g., the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and WCAG 2.0 AA).

User-Centered Design and Tools:

• You have expertise in the application of content design principles, methodologies and techniques including writing accessible and inclusive content, SEO, experience with journey mapping, user stories, information architecture, content auditing and evaluation, wireframing, prototyping, persona development, user research and usability testing.
• You have strong understanding of the roles content design and strategic communications play in government service design.
• You know principles and techniques to edit and optimize content for the web.
• You have experience evaluating digital services to outline content design improvements. This includes understanding interdependencies of text, user interface, accessibility, navigation design, information architecture, graphics, and user interface design.

Communication and People Skills:

• You can write a variety of high-quality communication materials describing talent acquisition services, processes, and practices such as memos, reports, speaking notes, Q&As, and presentations tailored to various stakeholder audiences.
• You have exceptional customer service, relationship management abilities and political acuity.
• You are a strong communicator and collaborator with an impeccable attention to detail.

Agile Development:

• You have experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams to build user-centered digital products.
• You have experience with agile product development tools and techniques to build prototypes.
• You are innovative and open to using digital collaboration tools and methods
• You can apply data and user research findings to continuously improve a service or product.
• You are deadline-driven and able to manage multiple projects in motion.
