As a Supervisor, you will lead, coordinate, and manage the delivery of aggregate resource authorizations and approvals in the ministry's Aggregate Section. You will work with a team of technical experts and stakeholders to ensure the Ministry's legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements are met prior to issuing aggregate-related authorizations. Additionally, you will lead modernization projects, and identify and implement continuous improvements to our program delivery the model. What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Aggregate Resources Manager, you will:

• Provide leadership for attracting, building and motivating high performance teams that are focused on responding to the Ministry's complex natural resource management challenges with a strong client service focus.
• Work collaboratively to leverage capacity from across work units, regions and the Ministry to ensure the best available advice is contributing to evidence-based decision making.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a multi-disciplinary team including human resources functions of recruitment, training and development and labour relations to support an inclusive and engaged team.
• Lead the planning and delivery the aggregate program, ensuring program integrity and quality service, consistent with legislation, regulations, provincial strategic directions, policies, and procedures.
• Provide expertise in operationalizing strategic plans through the development of work plans, issues management and communication strategies and provide advice to senior ministry management.
• Build and maintain relationships/partnerships with internal and external clients.
• Lead a team who work with external agencies, stakeholders and the public to deliver a program related to land use planning, economic development and the environment.
• Be a strong champion for organizational change enabling staff and teams with diverse motivations to effectively make necessary transitions.

Leadership and Management Skills

• You have demonstrated leadership skills to build effective teams by valuing diverse input and experiences to deliver results for resource management programs.
• You can lead and manage change by nurturing working relationships with internal staff and external communities with varying views and opinions.
• You have the ability to learn or have demonstrated experience applying human resources practices, policies, directives and collective agreements in relation to recruitment, training and development and labour relations.
• You possess strong supervisory skills to assign/direct work of staff and determine priorities and expectations.
• You have demonstrated the leadership behaviors, attributes and mindsets to lead the OPS into the future.

Analytical and Project Management Skills

• You have well developed analytical and problem solving skills to identify and resolve complex resource management issues.
• You have strong project management skills to coordinate, resource and plan the delivery of various broad scale projects.
• You possess sound judgment to determine project priorities, and escalate issues to the senior manager as required.

Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills

• You have demonstrated collaboration skills to develop linkages with key networks and stakeholders for various land/ resource management planning initiatives.
• You have proven negotiation and facilitation skills to serve as a liaison and to balance diverse interests in support of ministry programs.
• You have well developed communication skills to provide recommendations, expert advice, prepare reports, briefing/background notes and responses to various correspondence.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant resource management, strategic direction, legislation, guidelines and regulations.
• You have experience defining problems, developing and implementing solutions as well as formulating realistic recommendations for effective delivery of a broad range of programs and services.
• You have the ability to learn or are knowledgeable of resource management principles to lead the development and implementation of options/recommendations to support land use and natural resource management.
