Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS) is looking for an experienced IT professional to join our team, in the role of Technical Service Component Lead within the Desktop Services/Field Services Branch.

The Desktop Services/Field Services branch is accountable for many core enterprise-wide user technology services. As a technical leader in the Enterprise Deployment Services team, you will be engaged in the support and operation of key enterprise management technologies, including but not limited to, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Azure & Active Directory.

A healthy understanding of automation and reporting tools \ programming languages such as, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft SQL, XML and JSON will be necessary for daily operations.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• Provide specialized technical and group leadership to a dedicated service team for the delivery and on-going support of key service components
• Provide leadership to the creation and maintenance of service standards, performance indicators and operational procedures for the delivery of the assigned service component to meet legislative requirements, corporate I&IT policies and directives and business partners' needs

What you bring to the team

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• you have knowledge of enterprise management applications and automation solutions; platform integration technologies; and awareness of technology-specific standards
• you have knowledge of enterprise architecture and domains related to information and security to ensure that service components are consistent with architectural policies and design standards
• you have knowledge of procurement policies to develop proposals, evaluate bids, and negotiate vendor contracts
• you have knowledge of tools and methodologies to develop and maintain risk assessment and mitigation strategies, threat risk assessments (TRAs), and performance management approaches related to the delivery of a service component

Project, Change, and Performance Management Knowledge:

• you can lead projects, develop project and resource plans and deliver solutions that meet service component delivery technology needs
• you can monitor work performance of project teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, and within budget
• you can ensure that changes to the infrastructure, delivery mechanisms or the service component are duly authorized; problems are promptly identified through root cause analysis; and, are tracked and resolved to minimize service loss or recurrence
• you have the ability to set performance indicators, and deploy performance measurement tools, to capture, record and report on performance of service components and delivery, and project progress

Research and Analytical Skills:

• you can respond to, and resolve project or service component problems, and complete root cause analyses over the infrastructure, security environment, or the service component
• you can assess applicability of new technologies and impacts of their adoption, support business cases and recommendations, and enable creation of mechanisms to monitor effectiveness of implementations of new technology
• you can apply standard change processes to the development, test and promotion of improvements, and ensure all environments are protected from damage or compromise

Communication and Leadership Skills:

• you can conduct team/project meetings, create and maintain policies, prepare and present reports on performance findings, feasibility studies/business cases, risk and threat assessments
• you can explain and discuss project plans, changes to delivery and service components to team members, and provide mentoring and support to less experienced technical colleagues
• you can provide group leadership, technical expertise, and guidance to teams, recommend training, and provide input to annual staff performance reviews
