About the job
In this role, you will:
• Manage and administer around 75 Windows servers and provide senior expertise on day to day operation of these servers including monitoring their performance , patch management, security management and upgrades, for AD Server, File Server, Exchange server, Application servers, Web servers, Ticketing servers and all other OSC infrastructure and application servers.
• Support and lead infrastructure I&IT projects from inception to closeout by overseeing, coordinating, and supporting the service management function and developing appropriate technical, systems and procedural documentation.
• Develop and execute best practices and ensure alignment with corporate I&IT and other service providers.
• Manage VMWare farm and monitor the VMs, resources, connected storages, network connections and all dependent services; physical DELL servers and their support contracts; MS 365 services including: user and license management, storage management, One Drive and SharePoint Online administration, Exchange Administration, Security and compliance, Cyber Security, and permissions management; and OSC's backup solutions.
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and IT Management Skills
• Technical knowledge and experience with infrastructure, technical architectures, standards, security requirements, information & privacy protection standards, networks, operational environments and other I&IT technologies and industry trends to support project deliverables.
• Ability to lead client engagement sessions to gather, document and validate client requirements (business and functional) as part of the solution management for clients.
• Ability to exercise service risk management by providing recommendations based on an evaluation of risk and an understanding of business implications of risks.
• Able to manage all aspects of Servers/ Storages, mainly DELL servers and SAN storages.
• Knowledge of VMWare administration, Windows server administrations and Patch management including AD Server and related services, Exchange Server, File Server and permission management and other Windows server management.
• Ability to manage MS 365, MS Cloud, and Azure environment, and have extensive knowledge of backup system for on premise and Cloud environments with Commvault.
• Cyber Security, network administration and firewall management skills.

• Knowledge of project planning methodologies and project management skills to lead/conduct projects and major assignments to support the Ontario Science Centre's new strategic plan.
