Are you a seasoned cloud application developer with experience designing and building apps in the Microsoft Power Platform taking advantage of low/no-code development features?

Do you have what it takes to build a system that makes it easy to maintain robust information security, reliable data, ease of use, and high performance?

Are you excited at the prospect of integrating case management with SharePoint libraries, power BI dashboards, task tracking tools, secure messaging, and identity and access management?

If so, you may be the person that the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) is looking for to lead the design and implementation of a case management application for processing freedom of information appeals, privacy complaints, and breach reports in Ontario.

The IPC's mission is to enhance Ontarian's trust that their privacy and access rights will be respected. We are an administrative tribunal responsible for the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (CYFSA). Salary: $1,852.71 to $2,314.51 weekly

About the job

As a Senior Developer you will:
• Provide expertise and leadership in technology architecture with a focus in cloud application architecture, strategies, technology road mapping and methodologies.
• Plan, design, implement, support, and maintain solutions such as custom applications and integrations in the Microsoft 365 and Power Platform environment (e.g. SharePoint, model-driven apps, canvas apps, Power Pages, Power Automate).
• Create user interfaces and user experiences that respond to user needs, meet accessibility requirements, and minimize pain points and frustration.
• Provide technical and analytical guidance, developing and defining business and technical requirements and solution designs.
• Consult with business users to gather requirements, feedback on rapid prototypes, and validate solutions through user testing.
• Head solution design and architecture of cost-effective, high-performing, reliable and secure technology solutions.
• Manage complex projects that have high impact and visibility.

What you bring to the team

Qualifications:

Solutions Design and Architecture
• Hands-on experience designing modern architectural patterns to support delivery of complex IT solutions that are stable, secure, responsive, and scalable.
• Experience conducting feasibility studies, reviewing new application system architecture or re-engineering legacy systems or enterprise level platforms.
• Ability to develop architectural solutions to meet complex, multi-year plans, spanning multiple internal/external stakeholders and broadly defined business priorities.
• Ability to resolve significant integration and technical issues to address multiple systems/applications linkages, interdependencies and impacts where requirements are not initially clear.
• Ability to research and recommend innovative systems solution alternatives and integration strategies.
• Ability to develop appropriate performance measures that are adaptive and responsive to address the continuous introduction of new and emerging technologies, use of unfamiliar or unproven technology, broadly defined or undefined business and systems requirements.

Software Development:
• Deep end-to-end experience with Power Platform including environment set up and configuration, licensing, data modeling, security best practices, systems integrations through APIs and automation, user interface development, versioning, testing, etc.
• Knowledge and hands on experience designing and implementing solutions in the Microsoft Cloud Environment, specifically SharePoint Online and Power Platform model driven apps.
• An understanding of development best practices and principles with programming languages inside (Liquid, Power Fx) and outside the Power Platform (JavaScript, C#).
• Experience implementing application security best practices including role-based access control, field level security, field-level encryption, logging and alerting, authentication and authorization best practices, vulnerability management.
• Proven knowledge of databases specifically Dataverse and MSSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and data migration between platforms.
• Proven ability to develop accessible applications that comply with AODA.
