What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• Provide policy and program analysis services by conducting in-depth research studies, incident notification, security practices, performance measures/metrics and recommend options, strategies and best practices
• Coordinate and maintain the operations of the Ministry Emergency Management Program Committee
• Participate in operational planning and management processes
• Maintain the Emergency Response System including developing notification procedures, maintaining emergency contact lists, developing/maintaining support tools.

Knowledge of Emergency Management:

• You have knowledge of and can apply emergency management, facilities management and physical security concepts and frameworks, including Incident Management System;
• You have knowledge of and can apply assessment and performance measures/metrics related to emergency and security standards and practices;
• You have knowledge of issues management techniques, decision-making protocols, standards and systems;
• You have knowledge of and can apply emergency and security-related legislation and policies and directives.
Research and Analytical Skills:
• You demonstrate knowledge of research theory and techniques with strong analytical skills.
Project and Program Management Skills:
• You have project and program management skills to coordinate operations of committees and lead and support components of the Ministry Emergency Management Program;
• You demonstrate organizational skills to coordinate planning.
Communication Skills:
• You have communication skills to develop relationships and networks, and coordinate committee activities with senior staff;
• You can create research plans, present findings clearly, and prepare training materials;
• You possess strong interpersonal, relationship management and advisory skills;
• You have presentation and persuasion skills.
Computer Skills:
• You have computer skills in data analytics, SharePoint, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software to create tools, materials, and presentations;
• You possess knowledge or can acquire knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment or related computer applications.
Additional Information:This position is required to report to the Ministry of Attorney General headquarters in Toronto 5 days/week
Work Demands include: Frequent unexpected work demands, changes to deadlines on short notice and tight time pressures due to tight timelines and deadlines.
