What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:

• Lead and manage a portfolio team of high performing procurement professionals in delivering high quality, value added service planning and consulting advice for a wide range of ministry procurement projects/initiatives;
• Manage relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including central agencies;
• Ensure effective resource management for the unit, including being a leader-coach to support staff in delivering on performance expectations;
• Represent the unit/branch/division on division/ministry/OPS committees and stakeholder forums

How do I qualify?

Leadership & Management Skills:

• You have leadership skills to lead a team of high performing procurement professionals and foster an inclusive work environment
• You have management skills to manage human and financial resources.
• You have expertise in structuring, organizing and managing multiple complex projects, with a proven track record of successful project completion
• You can coach and mentor your team and staff within the unit, branch, and division

Program Management and Service Delivery:

• You demonstrate strategic, conceptual and analytical skills to develop practical strategies and procurement solutions and support client business/program delivery requirements
• You have demonstrated experience in managing the planning and delivery of a full range of procurement advisory and tender administration consultative services to an assigned portfolio of clients
• You have knowledge of service delivery concepts, standards and processes with a strong focus on quality

Technical Skills:

• You have demonstrated knowledge of public/private sector supply chain/procurement-related legislation, agreements, policies, principles, procedures, best practices to plan and develop complex procurements and provide a wide range of consultative/interpretative advice to clients

Program/Business Process Transformation Skills:

• You have strategic analysis/improvement and problem solving skills to develop innovative solutions that will enhance service delivery and client satisfaction
• You have experience in leading teams through continuous growth and change

Communication, Consultation and Relationship Management Skills:

• You have client relationship management skills to effectively build relationships and networks among stakeholders.
• You have demonstrated advisory, consultative and negotiation skills to create buy-in and motivate stakeholders to achieve client and corporate objectives by resolving issues and disputes
• You have demonstrated oral and written communication skills to prepare and conduct briefings and presentations for senior management, make effective recommendations that inform, advise and persuade successfully and diplomatically
