Consider a role where you will work directly with broader public sector (BPS) organizations in Ontario to adopt supply chain best practices and promote collaborative procurement.

Part of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, Supply Chain Ontario's primary objective is to meet the government's goal to manage public funds efficiently and effectively and to ensure value for money for the goods and services that are bought by public sector entities across Ontario.

As the Director of BPS Supply Chain Programs you will provide strategic direction and leadership in the planning, development, delivery and oversight of transfer payment funding and advice to help Broader Public Sector organizations modernize their supply chain functions and develop programs that support procurement innovation and other transformational goals. You will manage the relationships with BPS entities and relevant oversight ministries to facilitate the implementation of supply chain policies, tools, processes and leading practices to achieve efficiencies, improve effectiveness and support government priorities.

What can I expect to do in this role?

More specifically, the Director of BPS Supply Chain Programs will:

• Provide strategic direction, leadership and promotion of the OntarioBuys transfer payment program, in support of supply chain transformation and procurement of innovation in the broader public sector.

• Set the strategic goals of the program, ensuring linkages with government priorities, Supply Chain Ontario's (SCO) strategic plan and the emerging province-wide public sector supply chain strategy and will develop and implement programs that deliver on these goals.

• Provide overall direction for a program evaluation framework measuring the effectiveness of program design, development, delivery and implementation.

• Foster collaboration and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives by broadening networks and building partnerships representing a variety of needs and interests.

• Act as an expert advisor on Ontario's procurement policy framework, procurement related trade negotiations and the public sector supply chain strategy, specific to BPS organizations.

How do I qualify?

Senior Leadership:

• You are an experienced executive who can provide strategic leadership, vision and direction.
• You have demonstrated effectiveness in management and leadership activities including staffing, performance management, and employee and executive level communications.
• You are an engaging leader who mentors teams and promotes diversity, inclusion and equity in the workplace.

Program Delivery:

• You have experience in procurement or supply chain management.
• You understand the fundamentals of procurement in Broader Public Sector (BPS) organizations and their governance structures.
• Your background includes working in the public sector or not for profit sector.

Change Management and Continuous Improvement:

• You have proven experience implementing change and transforming the way in which business is delivered.
• You have implemented business process reviews, reporting and dashboard measurements.
• You are familiar with Lean Six Sigma and have developed and implemented performance measurement frameworks.

Stakeholder Management:

• You have experience providing advice and counsel to senior executives/officials in procurement arrangements or other complex supply chain issues.
• You are an experienced senior leader with excellent network building skills with the ability to identify key stakeholders and partners across the public sector.
• You have the ability to recognize and respond to politically sensitive situations.
