Consider this opportunity with the Public Safety Division to conduct strategic intelligence assessments related to organized crime in the province in partnership with cross-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies.
This competition will also be used to create an eligibility list of qualified candidates to fill upcoming temporary and permanent opportunities within the next twelve months following the closing date of the competition.
What can I expect to do in this role?
• Conduct research and analysis on organized crime and related operations
• Liaise and collaborate with municipal, federal, and international law enforcement and criminal intelligence partners
• Provide advice and recommendation to senior management
• Represent ministry at conferences related law enforcement or criminal intelligence
Please note that this position will require frequent travel in order to liaise with law enforcement stakeholders and partners across Ontario.
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge
• You have knowledge of the community safety and justice sector including understanding of organized crime, terrorism, foreign affairs, and cross-jurisdictional intelligence operations/models
• You have understanding of relevant legislation and governance
• You know processes related to classified material handling, security clearance, and emergency management
• You have knowledge of strategic policy development, program evaluation and analysis, as well as government decision-making processes in order to evaluate existing law enforcement strategies and make recommendations to support strategic policy development
Research and Analysis
• You have experience conducting trends analysis as well as quantitative and qualitative research
• You have research and analytical skills to analyze complex information from cross-jurisdictional sources
• You can identify and track crime patterns and conduct scans on organized crime activities
• You are able to prepare strategic intelligence assessments and profiles
Communication (Oral and Written), Interpersonal, Consultation, Presentation Skills
• You are able to liaise/coordinate with cross-jurisdictional law enforcement partners and criminal intelligence agencies to exchange information and support coordinated intelligence operations
• You can draft policy papers, reports, correspondence, briefing notes, and material for cabinet submission
• You can present findings and analysis to senior management for decision-making
