The Anti-Racism Directorate was created in February 2016 and works to address and prevent systemic racism in government policy, legislation, programs and services. It is the government's authoritative body of anti-racism knowledge and expertise, and promoter of racially equitable and fair practices, strategy and research. The Anti-Racism Directorate provides anti-racism leadership and expertise focused on systemic issues in collaboration with government, the Ontario Human Rights Commission, the community and business organizations. Our objective: to look at what lies beneath the trends and statistics associated with the systemic racism that continues to create barriers for Indigenous and racialized communities in Ontario, and identifying, addressing and removing these barriers wherever possible.
What can I expect to do in this role?
• Decreasing and eliminating systemic racism in institutions governed or regulated by the Ontario government through the development and implementation of racial equity frameworks and anti-racism capacity building.
• Developing and promoting fair practices, policies and strategies that lead to racial equity.
• Conducting research and analysis to support the development and implementation of an evidence-based framework and methodology for the assessment of government policies, programs and services.
• Increasing awareness and understanding of systemic racism among the public through a province-wide, multi-year anti-racism public education and awareness campaign.
• Proactively collaborating and engaging with the community, business organizations, government departments and the Ontario Human Rights Commission to address systemic racism.

How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• You are a dynamic individual who is passionate about increasing awareness and understanding of systemic racism and transforming the province into a more inclusive place
• You have expert and demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: anti-racism and equity issues, human rights, research and statistical analysis, and public engagement
• You have deep experience with policy development for complex, large scale initiatives
• You understand government legislative and decision-making processes to lead the development of strategies, policies and programs
• You can develop strategies to build strong relationships with the anti-racism community in order to address race-related public tension and conflict
• You have demonstrated partner engagement skills and the ability to build healthy collaborative relationships with internal and external partners
• You are a data specialist who knows program research, analysis and evaluation techniques to assess policy/program effectiveness and recommend program delivery and accountability frameworks
• You are a team player who works collaboratively to bring forward innovative ideas to the senior management team
• You have superior written and verbal communication skills to effectively brief senior management, engage with stakeholders and provide strategic advice
• You have presentation skills to present complex ideas and issues with clarity and confidence to a wide variety of audiences at public events and community partner engagements
Current salary ranges for the applicable classifications are as follows:
AGA22: $84,006-$110,380
PEC21: $80,592-$105,075
APA21 and AGA21: $76,726-$100,240
APA20: $70,906-$91,516
