Consider this exciting opportunity to work with IT Source, in the Central Agencies I&IT Cluster of the Ontario Public Service (OPS), where you will play a key role in managing and delivering a valuable internal IT consulting service across the OPS.
IT Source managers and employees partner closely with OPS clients to meet and exceed strategic business objectives, delivering results based on OPS best practices, as a full cost recovery business. We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented leader to be part of our high performing team managing professional services staff across a variety of locations across Ontario.
What can I expect to do in this role?
• Manage and contribute to the recruitment, professional development, and engagement of a cadre of fully skilled I&IT professionals deployed to assignments at a variety of locations across Ontario.
• Contribute to the implementation of initiatives that follow resource management, assignment, and deployment best practices, including business management and customer service programs.
• Support a large resource management based business unit in key operational activities including, operational and financial planning, risk management, process improvement, business metrics and performance measures.
Please note: The current location for this position is in Toronto, however, Oshawa may be considered as an alternate work location for part of the work week, based on operational requirements and upon the successful applicant's request as per the Central Agencies I&IT Cluster's flex program.

Leadership Skills:
• You have demonstrated knowledge and skills in all aspects of human resource management including performance management and improvement, talent assessment, career development and employee engagement in an IT environment.
• You have demonstrated knowledge and skills in coaching in order to develop staff and provide leadership.
• You have knowledge and skills in orienting and on-boarding newly hired professionals.
• You have knowledge of factors impacting human performance in organizations, and skills in effectively managing these factors.
• You have demonstrated knowledge and skills to lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams to achieve specific goals.
Resource Management Skills:
• You have experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring and managing direct reports in IT.
• You have demonstrated resource management experience working in a professional services organization that provides I&IT staff augmentation in an IT environment.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of technical and behaviour competencies and skills of I &IT professionals in the support of Resource Management to facilitate matching IT staff to deployment resources to client business requirements.
• You have experience assessing future demands through implementing approaches to ensure availability of talent to meet changing and competing demands.
• You have knowledge of IT communities of practice to support growth.
Technical Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, testing and implementation methods, technology data, applications, networking, and security to understand the process, content and needs of clients.
• You have an understanding of software and IT environments (best practices, languages, concepts and tools), and IT development and management to facilitate effective assignment management of individual professionals in IT project assignments.
• You have knowledge of technology for business and financial systems, service delivery processes, current I&IT trends, performance monitoring procedures, and change management to assess business impacts of new or proposed technologies and ensure successful implementation of change.
Project Management Skills:
• You have project management skills including planning, estimating, scheduling, monitoring and controlling to effectively manage multiple projects.
• You have work planning skills to support the development of operational plans that will contribute to I&IT goals and strategies.
Negotiation and Problem Solving Skills:
• You have problem solving and conflict management skills to provide advice and solutions in sensitive and challenging circumstances across various levels of Senior Management.
• You have good judgment and political acuity to intervene in complex matrixed relationships to affect timely outcomes with implications to credibility, ROI, project costs, quality and relationships.
• You have demonstrated adaptability skills to work effectively within a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups to achieve results.
• You are able to effectively manage expectations and influence others to find business oriented, collaborative solutions for issues.
