We have an important opportunity for you to engage in a program that provides technical support and guidance to local communities throughout the province in preparing their source protection plans.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Source Protection Liaison Officer, you will:

- support Source Protection Committees as they prepare reports and source protection plans under the Clean Water Act
- provide support, guidance and advice on technical, policy and legislative issues
- support issues management for complex challenges
- attend Source Protection Committee meetings and other meetings as required
- provide information and services to the ministry, stakeholders and municipalities
- provide expertise and recommendations to senior management

Environmental Science and Drinking Water Source Protection Knowledge:
- You know environmental science theories, principles and practices
- You can apply the principles, procedures, and techniques related to drinking water protection and quality, surface water and ground water protection, and water treatment plant operations
- You know environmental legislation and regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Environmental Protection Act, Safe Drinking Water Act and the Nutrient Management Act.

Planning and Organizational skills:
- You are organized and can prioritize your work activities
- You have proven planning skills
- You ensure deadlines are met

Issues Management, Analytical and Problem-solving skills:
- You have issues management experience
- You can analyze complex problems and technical information
- You can develop solutions to problems
- You demonstrate good reasoning skills
