If you are a talented and motivated I&IT project manager, consider this challenging opportunity with Application Maintenance and Operations, Business Solutions Services Branch to coordinate and manage multiple application support and operations I&IT portfolios for the Land and Resources Cluster, in which each position will have an assigned portfolio. The AMO Section supports and maintains a diverse portfolio of approximately 260+ custom and commercial off-the-shelf business applications.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• plan, coordinate and manage multiple application maintenance I&IT projects and project staff in the development and implementation of I&IT projects
• plan, coordinate and manage multiple application support and operations I&IT portfolios and project staff
• support and coordinate project reporting, production and approval of project deliverables, equipment and assets and administrative services
• anticipate, understand and manage risks and issues involved
• develop and maintain effective client relationships and manage expectations

*One position works out of the 40 St. Clair Toronto office and the other position will be located in either the 40 St. Clair, Toronto office or Guelph (1 Stone Road West) office; and will be determined with the successful candidate.

How do I qualify?

Project and Portfolio Management Skills:

• You have knowledge of accepted project management standards, practices and tools to plan and manage concurrent medium to large I&IT projects.
• You possess operational planning and development knowledge and skills to develop, implement and monitor operational project management policies and procedures.
• You have knowledge of technical and human change management approaches and tools.
• You have project management skills in order to plan and manage annual application portfolio planning, involving the annual assessment of required technology upgrades to avoid software obsolescence.
• You have analytical skills to assess application availability, incidents, performance and trends.
• You have leadership and team building skills to develop and sustain effective teams and foster cooperation.

Information Technology (IT) Knowledge:

• You have the ability to acquire knowledge of relevant I&IT technologies, industry trends and offerings.
• You have knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes, policies and techniques.
• You have knowledge of information handling technology, including information processing, storage, and accessibility, industry-wide standards, protocols and functionality for I&IT products.
• You are proficient in common office software and project management tools such as MS Project for planning and tracking concurrent and diverse projects.

Communication Skills:

• You have oral and written communications and interpersonal skills to negotiate, collaborate and communicate effectively with a wide variety of decision makers.

Other Essential Skills:

• You have financial planning and controllership skills to estimate and manage project budgets.
• You have the ability to acquire knowledge of the OPS procurement process to ensure compliance in managing acquisition of software solutions, hardware and services.
