What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• coordinate and provide high level business and operational planning and administration services for the District Manager and management team
• lead and manage the delivery of four major business functions and processes, including financial, infrastructure management, procurement and emergency management and safety
• serve as a technical resource and provide advice and direction on business processes, administrative policies, procedures and best practices
• facilitate information flow, issues management and the tracking/release of materials

How do I qualify?

Administrative Expertise:

• you have strong knowledge of business planning, policy approval and issues management processes
• you have demonstrated knowledge of resource management and resource operation programs to provide high-level planning, advisory and business administration services
• you have proven ability to interpret and apply administrative policies, procedures and best practices to manage the district's fleet inventory, accommodations, facilities and procurement requirements
• you have the ability to interpret and apply policies and legislation, such as the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA)

Coordination and Organizational Skills:

• you have well developed planning and organizational skills to track and coordinate a wide variety of activities with changing priorities
• you have strong time management skills to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment

Project Management and Leadership Skills:

• you have proven project management skills, and coordinating abilities to achieve results, lead the implementation of new initiatives and to ensure timely and successful conclusions
• you have good group leadership skills and influence ability to provide direction, advice, gain support and secure the cooperation of district management and staff

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• you have proven analytical and problem solving skills to provide advice, analysis and assist managers with operational plans, budget requirements, accommodation and fleet management needs
• you have well developed research and analytical skills to carry out research activities, identify and evaluate emerging trends, patterns and recognize potential impacts

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• you have demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice/recommendations on policies, best practices and brief management as required
• you can build productive working relationships within staff and tactfully resolve issues
• you have well developed written communication skills to prepare reports, briefing notes and responses to issues and information requests
