What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• provide quality assurance functions to the Ministry's rotary fleet of aircraft
• assist in ensuring that aircraft are maintained safely and to regulatory requirements
• conduct audits to ensure adherence to all Ministry policies and Transport Canada regulations

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirements:

• possess a valid Transport Canada aircraft maintenance engineer license M1 & M2
• ability to obtain an airport security clearance as per Transport Canada requirements
• possess a valid driver's licence to conduct field audits
• possess a valid radio restricted operator's certificate - aeronautical

Technical knowledge and skills:

• ability to ensure that rotary wing aircraft are maintained in airworthy condition in accordance to standards
• demonstrated ability to provide maintenance related expertise to safety program
• sound knowledge to conduct audits relating to the inspection, repair, overhaul and modification of all aircraft and components
• ability to ensure Airworthiness directives and other inspections are accomplished within time frames
• ability to conduct field audits to assist and direct maintenance personnel in compliance with Transport Canada and ministry regulations
• ability to approve all aircraft certification privilege for maintenance personnel
• thorough knowledge of Transport Canada Air Regulations, Air Navigation Orders, Transport Canada Airworthiness Manual and other related acts and manuals
• knowledge of and ability to work within relevant legislation/policies

General skills:

• excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively liaise with ministry staff and external agencies
• judgment skills to ensure aircraft are maintained safely and within budget
• ability to plan, organize and coordinate financial and material resources
• knowledge of computers and systems to make recommendations and provide approvals to attain system efficiency
